Mosul Modern City

Rebuilding Mosul Modern City

DijlaAM and its Partner will rebuild Mosul as a modern, world-class city that will help to bring peace, prosperity, and much-needed employment, housing, healthcare, and education to the region. The city will be carfree from its inception, giving an unusually high quality of life, exceeding that found even in the richest nations. It will be economically viable and highly sustainable. At the same time, we will reach into history for traditional designs that will make the city feel immediately comfortable and familiar to those who live and work there. Housing will be constructed to a high standard. The city will be connected both internally and externally using a state-of-the-art tram system, thereby avoiding the need to build automobile infrastructure and maintaining the city as a place of calm and beauty.

DijlahAM and its Designers

will build a large central oasis, a garden of peace in the very center of the city. It will be nearly a full square kilometer of natural beauty. The oasis will be surrounded by the largest and most important buildings, which will enjoy a view out over the oasis. In this way, the city center will immediately become the most important place. Neighborhoods will also have their own public squares and small parks where old folks can relax and children can run and play.

Schools at every educational level will be built and operated to provide a high standard of education for young people as well as older people who wish to advance their education. Each neighborhood will have its own elementary school. Advanced healthcare will be provided in local clinics and two international-standard hospitals.

Dijlah Asset Management (DijlahAM) will ensure that children grow up healthy, and this will be aided by the much cleaner air that carfree cities provide.  Sport and entertainment facilities will be included as a further force for good health and high quality of life. Schools will have playgrounds so that children build both their minds and bodies in healthy ways.

The city will be one of the most sustainable ever built, with significant supplies of sustainable energy. Electric trams will provide excellent transport that can be sustained indefinitely into the future. Some residents will need cars for journeys outside the city, but their cars will be parked on the edge of the city.

Courtyard houses may be built with as few as two stories and as many as four or even five. Typically, roofs are flat and are used as additional living space, especially during the summer. A single staircase serves the entire building, which may range in size from as little as 100 square meters on up to 1000 or more. Typically, more public uses (possibly including family shops) are located on the ground floor, with more private occupancies on the higher floors. The entire building can be secured at night by shutting the single door that gives onto the street.  Farms will be developed close to the city and provide a healthy source of food.

DijlahAM and Al Marai of Saudi Arabia will build a state-of-the-art water treatment plant so that all tap water is safe to drink. Waste water will be treated before release. The city will begin with a good supply of decent jobs, which will help to stabilize the circumstances of many thousands of people. We will work with the biggest farming and food processing company in the region.

DijlahAM & Al Marai of Saudi Arabia to build farms, dairy farms and food processing plants in each city that we will build. Such initiative will provide much needed source of fresh organic vegetables and berries, milk and protein and meet and poultry processing plants. DijlahAM and its partners will deploy advance technology in Agricultural and Food production in oder to fulfill the needs of each city.

Transport and Parking Options for The Carfree Developments in Iraq
Some car parking will be needed on the edge of the city to provide parking for visitors, city residents who must have cars, and share-autos for residents who need a car only occasionally. The garages will require quick access to public transport so that travelers may easily continue their journey into the city. The actual number of parking spaces should be small compared to the usual number required in a city. Probably 10% of usual should be sufficient. Multi-story garages make the most efficient use of land and can be roofed with solar panels.

Transport to and within carfree cities

should be provided almost entirely by rail with the important exception of bicycles, which are very quick and useful for shorter trips. Conventional tram (light rail) systems are entirely satisfactory for this use inside the city and comparatively inexpensive to install in a new city. They can run on surface streets, and the possibility of one-way route networks, with opposing directions in parallel

Power Plant, Water Purification Plant, Refining & Retailing Oil Derivatives
Dijlaham and its partners will build Gas Turbine generating plants powered by flare gas, so that this valuable resource is no longer wasted. The city will be economically viable. Despite the high quality of life it will offer, it will be comparatively inexpensive to build and operate. It will pay back construction loans with only moderate rental rates.

Mosul Modern City will resume its historic role as a city of regional significance with a long and important history. The wounds of the past decades will begin to heal under these favorable circumstances, helping to bring peace to the region.companies will cooperate to implement the plan while at the same time investing in profitable enterprises. Only deep-rooted reconstruction can bring peace and stability while reducing Iranian influence in Iraqi affairs.
